Stop waiting for it to be easy.

This life.
This walk in faith.

Nowhere in the Bible does God promise days without downpours and moments without mountains.

And, yet, our human nature tempts us with “easy buttons”. 

This job.

Or this book.
Or this relationship.

And, my gracious, we’re overwhelmed with disappointment.

And we question everything.

Because it’s really stinking’ hard.

But here is the peace I am finding:

Without the discomfort, how will we remember that God is there?

That He is holding us.
That He is guiding us.
That He is loving us…no matter what.

Maybe God isn’t giving you an easy way out because He wants to desperately get your attention under the umbrella of His love.

“No matter how deep the water gets, Child, I am with you.”

So, right now, do the scary thing – the impossible thing.

Stop looking for comfort on the outside.

Start embracing the comfort only He can give you on the inside.

Because sometimes God doesn’t send the boat.

But wants to build a new one with you instead.

Right here in the flood of your fears.
