Need help holding on? Breathe until you believe.
People are hard.
Relationships are hard.
But, perhaps, hardest of all?
Loving yourself enough to hold onto tomorrow.
We look at the world around us, and everyone seems to have it together.
The body.
The job.
The relationship.
When, inside, we’re falling apart.
So, how then do we survive?
Especially during a pandemic.
Especially during a season of so much uncertainty.
I think we have to go even smaller in our goals:
Make it through the next 5 minutes.
Breathe.
Make it through the next 10 minutes.
Breathe.
Make it through the next hour.
Breathe.
Because every time we make the next five, ten, or sixty minutes.
We can cheer.
We can be present in the pain.
We can breathe to the next moment.
Because even though struggles may always be with us, we have every tool we need to endure them.
So, when all of life closes in.
Focus on your breath.
And keep breathing until you start believing.
You will make it through this moment.
And your story won’t be defined by the fear but the freedom that comes with knowing you are strong.
And, today, it is enough.
