You can do this.

I don’t know what giant stands before you, but I know you have already survived your hardest days

The ones where you struggled to get out of bed.

The ones where you struggled to forgive yourself.

The ones where you struggled to not give up on it all.

Because, you see, while you were holding on – terrified of letting go.

You arms were getting stronger.

Your vision was becoming clearer.

And your heart was growing wiser.

Here are three ways to use that strength in this season and every tough one to come:

1. Remember your superpower. Stress and struggle push us closer to our purpose. Consider what you discovered about yourself in the battles you’ve already foughtand won. What got you through the last lap? And what about your heart did you carry away from the ashes? I am willing to bet it is the part that you love most about yourself. And I call it your superpower. It’s still there. You were born with it. You can’t lose it. Use it.

2. Remember your growth. The beautiful, and sometimes really hard, thing about our challenges is that they leave us changed…forever. We can’t go back. But we get the blessing to go forward. Unfortunately, guilt, shame, and toxic thoughts can speak a really powerful and persuasive lie: It’ll always be this way. But it just isn’t true. You won’t let yourself be led back to a trap, and you have a better sense of your worth than ever before. You are enough. You know it’s time to bloom.

3. Remember your hurt. No, I am not telling you to linger there for long, but consider what it was that caused the greatest pain. Now, imagine that you can fit it into a box. Squeeze it in if you have to, but leave it all there. Tape the top. And walk away. You are leaving the hurt, you are giving the healing more space. That box is no longer yours to carry. Give thanks.

We cannot predict what is to come, but we can use what already has to help us endure.

You can do this.

You already are.
